Lil Young & Big-D Attend "Black Youth Empowerment" Event Richard Hicks Luncheon In Hoboken,NJ!!

The Hoboken Housing Authority hosted its annual Black Youth Empowerment Luncheon on Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Boys & Girls Club in honor of Richard Hicks and his dream to motivate the children of the community. Carmelo Garcia, executive director of the Hoboken Housing Authority, was one of several speakers urging students to reach for the unthinkable. "You need to make the impossible, possible," Garcia said. "You need to choose a vehicle you love and are passionate about, and you need to use that vehicle to serve others". Thirteen years ago, Garcia partnered with then-councilmen Ruben Ramos & Chris Campos to bring to life to Hicks' vision of encouraging the youth.  The event has rapidly grown from 25 audience members the first year to more than 150 on Saturday. The keynote speaker for the event, Wale Indris Ajibade, addressed the children by telling them what was "cool." He told them "cool" meant students from the neighborhood graduating from Harvard and Stevens Institute, and "cool" was understanding the many discoveries to be made in the world and striving to make them. The luncheon featured several presentations from students who were already taking steps toward their goals. Three young boys, known as the Lil Monstaz, performed two rap songs, one of which mentioned their coming from a small town and having big dreams to fulfill. Hit City artists Lil Young & Big-D also came in support of the empowerment being it was for a good cause footage and pictures were also taken with more upcoming artists from Hoboken,NJ "Lil Monstaz" who are very young and also artists inspired by Lil Young & More. Young believes he is an inspiration to many especially the youth so his appearance at this event was very important. For more on Hit City just stay tuned also footage of this event is below..

Lu Hefner In Support Of Street King!!

About Street King

Back home, 50 and his trusted manager Chris Lighty began brainstorming ways he could help kids born with the odds stacked against them. A trip to the World Cup in Africa opened his eyes to rampant poverty and hunger across the continent.

They immediately thought of Chris Clarke, the entrepreneur behind Pure Growth Partners. PGP’s revolutionary mission is to find and create sustainable brands using a “one for one” give-back component to donate directly to the world’s most effective charities.
Together, they conceived a product that perfectly fit 50′s driven persona and their mutual desire to make a difference: the Street King energy shot. Street King provides focus and energy, two qualities 50 credits with being crucial to his success. And every single bottle of Street King purchased provides a meal for a hungry child.
Providing his fans worldwide with positive energy – while helping children get the nutrition they need – is just the kind of powerful impact 50 has been longing to make. Now Street King Energy Shots are here to turbo-charge your drive to succeed at whatever you do. And you’ll not only feel good, you’ll feel good about yourself, too.
Here you can see Lu Hefner In support of the Street King movement taking a sip of the drink at the return of Funkmaster Flex at Oceana Hall which took place this Saturday with a overwhelming crowd there packing the floor for Flex. Lu says "im all for supporting a organization looking to better the lives of underprivileged children we all deserve to live a better life so why cant they?

Got The Moves Like Cartune!!?? Nicholas "Cartune" Nickle Sets Record!!!!

Nickle 2012Nick Nickle earns SPARTAN SHOP Athlete of the Week after breaking the NCC career record for 3-pointers made.  Nickle has 96 career threes, eclipsing the mark of 93 previously held by Tanner Duncan.  Sophomore Nick Nickle knocked down four 3-pointers to establish a new NCC career record, but it wasn't enough as Bergen used a strong second half from Maynard Freeman to earn an 80-71 victory on Saturday afternoon.

Nickle, who finished with 15 points, broke the NCC career record for 3-pointers early in the game when he knocked down his second trey and finished with four trifectas, giving him 96 for his career, eclipsing the mark of 93 set by Tanner Duncan (2005-07).

Freeman scored 16 of his 21 points in the second half as the Bulldogs pulled away from a 36-36 halftime deadlock to pick up the conference victory.

"Turnovers and defensive lapses ..." stated NCC Head Coach Kevin Foley, "too many of both of them ... we continue to play hard, but our decision-making and focus continue to lack at times."

All-Region candidate Ralph Padilla scored 16 points, as did freshman Jaylonn Tullis, to lead Northampton.

The Spartans fall to 9-17 overall and 8-15 in Region XIX.

Bergen improves to 8-16 overall and 7-14 in Region XIX.

Northampton closes out their season on Tuesday when they host Middlesex County College at 7pm.

Nick Nickle Aka CARTUNE Poised to Set Career Mark for 3-Pointers In His NCC Career !!!!

Nicklel to the hoopBETHLEHEM, Pa. - From Orlando, Florida, to Herkimer, New York, to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania... Nick Nickle's career has taken a long and winding road to get to Northampton, but the sophomore shooting guard has made the most of his opportunity and now stands just one 3-pointer away from setting the career record at NCC.Nickle was a vital member of last season's 21-9 team which advanced to the Region XIX Final Four before falling to eventual champion Ocean County College.  Nickle appeared in 29 games, knocking down 27 treys and scoring 123 points in his role off the bench. This season Nickle has blossomed into a major offensive factor for the Spartans, averaging 13 points per game (which ranks 3rd on the team) and almost 2 assists per night.  Nickle has knocked down 64 3-pointers this season (with two games to play), which ranks third in NCC history behind Kerreshe Daily's 89 in 2002-03 and Tom Wesner's 73 during the 1999-00 campaign.

Nickle knocked down 7 trifectas in a game earlier this season vs. Atlantic Cape Community College and has three games with five.

"Nick can shoot it," remarked Head Coach Kevin Foley, "when he gets in a zone, he can knock it down with the best of them ... it has really been a pleasure having Nick on the team the last two years and watching him develop as a player."

Nickle's career total currently stands at 92 made 3-pointers, one behind career leader Tanner Duncan who had 93 treys during his career from 2005-07.

Nickle will get his first attempt at the record on Saturday when the Spartans host Bergen Community College at 2pm.
